Jack Doering Sr (Auto City Speedway and Dixie Speedway) and Ed Jones were the original founders of the MSPA
Chuck McClung - When Ed Jones and Jack Doering were trying to get the MSPA off the ground, Chuck was consulted for his knowledge. He met with Carlings Beer and got them involved with the MSPA Racing Series as a sponsor and the series was on its way.
It was in 1979 that McClung managed to persuade Busch Beer to become involved with the MSPA as a sponsor. For all his efforts on behalf of the MSPA, Chuck was made a lifetime member of the MSPA. In 1981, Chuck became the executive direction of the Michigan Speedway Promoters Association.
Allan E. Brown - Allen dedicated his life to the preservation and promotion of auto racing. In addition to traveling to upwards of 100 race a season and promoting the National Speedway Directory, he was also an integral part of the sport through preserving history.
Allan was a Board of Directors member and Secretary/Treasurer of the Michigan Motor Sports Hall of Fame, and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Michigan Speedway Promoters Association from 2002 through 2016.
Dick Beebe - Dick's love of racing prompted him, along with wife Pat, to start a weekly paper covering motor sports news in 1965. The MARC Times Racing News was a thriving business, with subscribers in all 50 states and 22 countries. Tim and Ted worked with their parents on the newspaper. Through the newspaper the Beebe family has donated thousands of dollars to families to deceased or or injured drivers.
Dick has always been a strong advocate for driver safety. In 1970 he formed the American Racing Congress, which established safety rules governing most of the tracks in the United States and Canada. Several of these rules are still used nationwide. He helped in the development of window nets for stock cars. Dick strongly advocated for the development of better firesuits, roll cages, seatbelts, etc., and enforced the use of these safety factors at all race events he promoted.
